Who is making it?

Hal Film Maker is in charge of B Gata H Kei. HFM is a pretty old studio and I would say they are more known for their upfront comedies but with a darker undertone. HFM has made series like Saber Marionette J to X, Kaleido Star, Uta kata and probably the more famous Aria.

Who is in it?

Tamura Yukari is Yamada. Yukari is probably most famous for being the very lovable Nanoha. Yukari is probably my favorite voice actress but that is only because I love Nanoha

Shishido Rumi is Erogami-sama. I have not seen a single series that this girl has been in but so far I like how she is handling the Erogami.

Hanazawa Kana is Miyano Mayu. I don't think I've seen a single series where this voice actress is the main character but, whatever role she does get she does phenomenal job of it. Kana has been inquite a few hype animes as well such as; Sengoku Nadeko from Bakemonogatari, Zange-chan from Kannagi, and Kaminagi Ryouko from Zegapain. She is an awesome voice actress and it is always awesome getting to have Nadeko in anime.

Noto Mamiko is Kosuda Kazuki. Mamiko is
another one of my favorite voice actresses. To me, one of her most memorable roles was her Yakumo in School Rumble. I just really liked her voice and it fit incredibly well with the character. I was pretty taken back when I discovered she was doing Kazuki, the tomboyish sister. Mamiko has done a ton of roles such as Aya from Ichigo 100%, Ichinose Kotomi from Clannad, Shihou Matsuri from Sola (so good so good) and Neiro from Kaiba. She does a lot of my favorite characters in a lot of series'.

Horie Yui is Takeshita Miharu. Yui should be one of the more popular voice actresses even in the U.S. because she was Narusegawa Naru in Love Hina. However! I really know her as doing Eri from School Rumble and Fatina from Druaga. Horie Yui is also one of my favorite voice actresses and honestly if they came from School Rumble, I really like them. The list of quality characters Yui has done is long but I'll pick a few that I really liked; Ayu from Kanon 2006, Kotori from Da Capo, Maria from Umineko, Yamazaki Kanako from Natsu no Arashi. Holy crap she has been in a lot of stuff.


What happened?

In this episode, Yamada gets Kasuda to go on a 4 person date to a water park. Yamada is aiming to use her sex appeal to seduce Kasuda. Takeshita and her boyfriend separate from Yamada and Kasuda causing Yamada to drag Kasuda onto a gigantic water slide. Yamada, ignoring the fact Kasuda is afraid of heights, drags him on the slide over and over because he would embrace her out of fear.

Yamada didn't realize he had a fear of heights. But, instead of apologizing she makes fun of him and calls him lame. Kasuda feeling as if it was his fault tries to make amends and with the help of Takeshita's boyfriend he just sneaks behind her and gives her a hug and apologizes; Yamada accepts it.

Yamada feels she has seen Kasuda enough to warrant the purchase of condoms so she can use them with Kasuda. Also she self proclaims the next episode to the be episode where she will lose her virginity...

However! A new rival appears! Yamada discovers there is a giant boobed girl giving Kasuda some cookies. Yamada does not approve of this girls existence and becomes incredibly confused about how to confront Kasuda. Instead of asking directly she basically becomes a stalker to find out what she is all about.

Yamada and Takeshita raid Kasuda's house. At Kasuda's house they discover Mayu and her family going to Kasuda's house for a BBQ. Turns out Yamada is competing against a childhood friend. Luckily for Yamada, Kasuda doesn't recognize that Mayu actually likes him.

Yamada decides there is only one to do and that is to destroy her. Okay not really, but to crush Mayu by telling her that she is going after Kasuda. Things go awry when Mayu mistakes Yamada for supporting her. Yamada is unable to tell her the truth and Mayu believes she is walking away with a new friend. Basically, Yamada fails.

Final Opinions

Another fun and cute episode. I'm really liking Yamada's voice actress. She is so adorable it makes for a very powerful contract against her character who is trying to become a slut. The episode progresses Yamada's character by making her realize her actions are fairly selfish and are harming Kasuda. Her volatile personality makes it difficult for Kasuda to do anything clearly; like when she called Kasuda lame at the water park instead of apologizing. Kasuda is basically constantly unaware of what her feelings are at any given time. Damn Yamada, such a girl.

Something I do think is interesting though is how protected sex is definitely all over the series. At least the series is reminding people about the importance of safe sex. Even though it was pretty hilarious when Yamada was trying to figure out how to use a condom.

I'm looking forward to the next episode.

B Gata H Kei EP01

I just grabbed this episode randomly and to my delightful surprise, Nanoha VA is in it! It gets better! Her character is basically trying to become a slut! For people who aren't aware of Nanoha VA, she sounds like a 7 year old so, now we have this chick running around trying to be a whore and this is the premise for this series.


Here is our beautiful 7 year old sounding main character. I was pretty worried about the voice actress not fitting but, I think what is going on here is that Yamada is meant to be seen as a cute girl and might just be on the wrong path of losing her virginity.

Gata reminds me of 40 year old version. Of course Yamada isn't 40 years old but, she is trying to find some no named guy to lose her virginity to.


She decides to target a guy named Kasuda. Yamada has no idea how to seduce a guy. She comes up with intricate ideas but, they just never seem to fall through correctly because she always does/says the wrong thing.

Yamada wants to be alone with Kasuda so she can get some sweet sweet loving going on. Turns out Kasuda has a hot college sister. Yamada believes Kasua is immune to Yamada's looks and actions because of how physical Kasuda's sister is.


I just liked this picture. Kasuda's sister leaves so, Yamada gets ready to get inside of Kasuda's pants.


Yamada isn't mentally prepared for Kasuda's boner and bursts out of the room.

I'm really feeling this series and expect this one to be a fun ride. This one will definitely replace Kimi ni Todoke for me ;0
