Kaicho Wa Maid-sama EP02

Who is Making it?
J.C. Staff is the animation studio for Kaicho wa Maid-sama. I'm pretty sure if you have watched anime at all you have probably seen J.C. Staff in the credits somewhere. This company has been around for quite sometime. This group has done some of my favorite oldies like Slayers and Azumango Daioh. This group is responsible for recent anime like Shakugana no Shana, Nodame Cantabile, and Hayate no Gotoku!! A powerful animation studio. J.C. Staff is pretty much like a manufacturer of reliable anime. I approve of J.C. Staff but, I don't really feel like they do anything out of the ordinary. The studio is relatively normal and stays within typical anime guidelines.
Who is in it?
Fujimura Ayumi is Ayuzawa Misaki. I'm pretty unfamiliar with this voice actress. Let me think here. Ayumi was Azaka from Kara no Kyoukai and, damn, she was a pretty good Azaka. Uhh, what else. The voice actress was also Kannagi Ayano from Kaze no Stigma. She is a relatively new voice actress I suppose but she is definitely a capable voice actress because I feel her Misaki is excellent.
Okamoto Nobuhiko is Usui Takumi. What is with these unfamiliar voice actors, I actually have to do research on these people. Okay, so Nobuhiko has been around about as long as Ayumi. The only noteable rolls I can clearly remember him having is "Accelerator" in Toaru Majutsu no Index and Luke Ainsworth in Seiken no Blacksmith. He is also the main character in Mayoi Neko Overrun! Like Ayumi, he is definitely capable of being a powerful voice actor and I'll look forward to hearing him more often.
What happened?
The most glorious thing about the series is how easy is it to summarize what the hell happened.
Misaki is preparing for the school festival and finds out one of the classes hasn't decided on something to do for the event. The boys in the class want to do a rock/paper/scissors strip competition which sounds amazing but, Misaki shot that down cold. Misaki decides to listen to the THREE girls in the class who want to do a cafe. Her listening to the three girls begins her cycle of neglecting the boys of the school.
The boys in another class want to have some "love cushions" in their star gazing room but Misaki brings the ban hammer and denies that idea. Misaki is continually ignoring what the boys want and justifies her actions by recalling past events where a boy did something indecent with a girl. The boys say they won't do it again however, she just doesn't want to risk it or doesn't care
Takumi, as per usual, visits Misaki at her work and gives her a good skirt flip. Must have been glorious! Anyways, Takumi is realizing the boys are becoming very upset about the way Misaki is treating the male students; he tries to warn her but to no avail. Misaki really has a thing against guys.
As it turns out the boys were pretty damn upset with the idea of running a simple cafe and decided to change it to a cosplay cafe. Misaki sees the boys swarming girls and immediately has the boys taken from the room and tries to scold them. The boys backlash at her hard and tell her she won't even listen to what they want because of her harsh personality towards males. So, instead of helping the cafe they just leave. Misaki realizing she did a horrible thing tries to get them to come back but alas, it was all useless.
Misaki has to help the three girls running the cafe and thanks to her maid experience she does an exceedingly well job... Until she lets out a simple "Yes, Master" or "goshujin-sama" Luckily for her Takumi comes in and saves the day by making people believe the cafe is a cosplay cafe.
The episode clothes with the two of them leaving and Misaki giving her thanks. Takumi on the other hand places Misaki against a tree and reminds her that she is his own personal maid. The seen makes me think of all of those "You gunna get raped" pictures.
Final Opinions:
Well, I remember my EP01 and me not really liking the series but, for what ever reason that strangely changed. I think I just really like how Misaki isn't a little bitch and actually takes initiative. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Takumi develops as a character too. Declaring a girl to be your own personal maid is quite a bold thing to say and I wonder how he will capitalize on that.

B Gata H Kei EP02

- Just adding this stuff now since I didn't do it for EP01-
B Gata H Kei

Who is making it?
Hal Film Maker is in charge of B Gata H Kei. HFM is a pretty old studio and I would say they are more known for their upfront comedies but with a darker undertone. HFM has made series like Saber Marionette J to X, Kaleido Star, Uta kata and probably the more famous Aria.

Who is in it?

Tamura Yukari is Yamada. Yukari is probably most famous for being the very lovable Nanoha. Yukari is probably my favorite voice actress but that is only because I love Nanoha

Shishido Rumi is Erogami-sama. I have not seen a single series that this girl has been in but so far I like how she is handling the Erogami.
Hanazawa Kana is Miyano Mayu. I don't think I've seen a single series where this voice actress is the main character but, whatever role she does get she does phenomenal job of it. Kana has been inquite a few hype animes as well such as; Sengoku Nadeko from Bakemonogatari, Zange-chan from Kannagi, and Kaminagi Ryouko from Zegapain. She is an awesome voice actress and it is always awesome getting to have Nadeko in anime.

Noto Mamiko is Kosuda Kazuki. Mamiko is
another one of my favorite voice actresses. To me, one of her most memorable roles was her Yakumo in School Rumble. I just really liked her voice and it fit incredibly well with the character. I was pretty taken back when I discovered she was doing Kazuki, the tomboyish sister. Mamiko has done a ton of roles such as Aya from Ichigo 100%, Ichinose Kotomi from Clannad, Shihou Matsuri from Sola (so good so good) and Neiro from Kaiba. She does a lot of my favorite characters in a lot of series'.

Horie Yui is Takeshita Miharu. Yui should be one of the more popular voice actresses even in the U.S. because she was Narusegawa Naru in Love Hina. However! I really know her as doing Eri from School Rumble and Fatina from Druaga. Horie Yui is also one of my favorite voice actresses and honestly if they came from School Rumble, I really like them. The list of quality characters Yui has done is long but I'll pick a few that I really liked; Ayu from Kanon 2006, Kotori from Da Capo, Maria from Umineko, Yamazaki Kanako from Natsu no Arashi. Holy crap she has been in a lot of stuff.

What happened?

In this episode, Yamada gets Kasuda to go on a 4 person date to a water park. Yamada is aiming to use her sex appeal to seduce Kasuda. Takeshita and her boyfriend separate from Yamada and Kasuda causing Yamada to drag Kasuda onto a gigantic water slide. Yamada, ignoring the fact Kasuda is afraid of heights, drags him on the slide over and over because he would embrace her out of fear.
Yamada didn't realize he had a fear of heights. But, instead of apologizing she makes fun of him and calls him lame. Kasuda feeling as if it was his fault tries to make amends and with the help of Takeshita's boyfriend he just sneaks behind her and gives her a hug and apologizes; Yamada accepts it.
Yamada feels she has seen Kasuda enough to warrant the purchase of condoms so she can use them with Kasuda. Also she self proclaims the next episode to the be episode where she will lose her virginity...

However! A new rival appears! Yamada discovers there is a giant boobed girl giving Kasuda some cookies. Yamada does not approve of this girls existence and becomes incredibly confused about how to confront Kasuda. Instead of asking directly she basically becomes a stalker to find out what she is all about.

Yamada and Takeshita raid Kasuda's house. At Kasuda's house they discover Mayu and her family going to Kasuda's house for a BBQ. Turns out Yamada is competing against a childhood friend. Luckily for Yamada, Kasuda doesn't recognize that Mayu actually likes him.

Yamada decides there is only one to do and that is to destroy her. Okay not really, but to crush Mayu by telling her that she is going after Kasuda. Things go awry when Mayu mistakes Yamada for supporting her. Yamada is unable to tell her the truth and Mayu believes she is walking away with a new friend. Basically, Yamada fails.

Final Opinions
Another fun and cute episode. I'm really liking Yamada's voice actress. She is so adorable it makes for a very powerful contract against her character who is trying to become a slut. The episode progresses Yamada's character by making her realize her actions are fairly selfish and are harming Kasuda. Her volatile personality makes it difficult for Kasuda to do anything clearly; like when she called Kasuda lame at the water park instead of apologizing. Kasuda is basically constantly unaware of what her feelings are at any given time. Damn Yamada, such a girl.

Something I do think is interesting though is how protected sex is definitely all over the series. At least the series is reminding people about the importance of safe sex. Even though it was pretty hilarious when Yamada was trying to figure out how to use a condom.

I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Mayoi Neko Overrun EP01

Who is making it?

The people at AIC are making this anime. AIC has been around a damn long time. This studio made Bubble Gum Crisis, Last Exile, and even Candy Boy. I feel AIC makes some pretty reliable anime but,  never anything too amazing; which isn't a bad thing. Whatever they get their hands on the anime tends to come out alright. I definitely wouldn't mind if they did something amazing like Last Exile but, AIC seems to just be picking pretty normal stuff to do.

Who's in it?

Itou Kanae as Serizawa Fumino. I really don't know too much about her outside of her being Saten from Railgun and I found her pretty enjoyable in that series so, lets hope hope she kicks some ass. Fumino is a tsundere.

Iguchi Yuka as Umeno Morichise. Yet another VA I know so little about. The only thing she was in that I really remember is Index and I thought she was pretty damn adorable in that series as well. Morichise is an ojou.

Taketatsu Ayana as Kiriya Nozomi (The big boobed girl) I think the only recognizable role she's done (for me at least) is Ritsu from K-on so, the girl definitely has talent but still I don't know what to expect from her.

I'll introduce the cat girl next episode...

What is Mayoi Neko Overrun all about?

Episode 01 starts off with a scene of a girl crying and rubbing her cleaning her tears with her dress. The scene was meant to portray a strong tie between her and the main male character. The main character is Tasuzuki Takumi, him and Fumino have no parents and are really close to each other. Takumi in a quick monologue explains how Fumino means the opposite of everything she says because she is quite the tsundere.

The two of them end up in class where they are confronted by Morichise who secretly wants to be friend with the two of them. However, since Morichise is an ojou type she finds it very hard to actually be open about her feelings so she instead forces her will onto them to try and create an opportunity of friendship.

Fumino is very aggressive against Morichise because she doesn't like how Morichise is trying to boss around Takumi.

Takumi and Fumino had a cake to deliver but, the cake was gone. They discover from a young boy a cat the size of Fumino took it. Fumino believes the boy and goes looking for the cat while Takumi continues to make another cake.

Fumino searches all over the place but to no avail however, the silly ojou finds this mysterious cat girl and makes her do some heavy cosplay. After the cosplay is finished though, The cat girl leaves and Morichise goes in search of her. While looking for the cat girl, Morichise ends up at Takumi's pastry shop and discovers an opportunity for her to become friends.

Her opportunity slips away from her so she ends up trying to look for the cat girl again where she is saved by Fumino. They both decide to go back to the pastry shop where they encounter Takumi's big breasted sister and the mysterious cat girl. The episode doesn't really tell you what the whole series is going to be about but, it'll be school life plus a cat ear girl.

Final Remarks

Episode 01 of Mayoi Neko Overrun starts off with a crying loli and panties. Obviously crying loli and panties does not mean the series is going to be the best thing in the world but I definitely didn't feel that the series was bad in any real way. It is pretty normal but it has a high chance of being cute and fun. Besides, Horie Yui is in it and she is freaking awesome.

Arakawa Under the Bridge EP01

I'm going to try and organize my blog a bit better so it isn't an utter shit storm so, lets see what I end up with. Can you guess what that is!? Arakawa Under the Bridge episode 01 popped up recently and I thought it looked pretty promising.
Arakawa Under the Bridge
Who is making it?
Arakawa Under the Bridge is done by the animation group "Shaft". Shaft tends to do a lot of slice of life but, with a slight twist. The animation studio is responsible for the creation of Rec, Tale of Memories, Bakemonogatari, Zetsubou Sensei and many many more. On a personal note, I really enjoy slice of life anime and Shaft does them right.
Who's in it? (I'll add them ass they Appear)
Kamiya Hiroshi as Ichinomiya Kou, this man is Zetsubou sensei and Koyomi in Bakemonogatari. This guy rules, He is up there with Sugita Tomokazu IMO.
Sakamoto Maaya as Nino, this woman is Ryougi Shiki from Kara no Kyoukai and is probably most famous for her role as Kanzaki Hitomi in Escaflowne.
What is "Arakawa Under the Bridge" all about?

Kou, from the age of 3, has learned to never be in debt to anyone and strives to do everything on his own. Whether it be nurturing his father like a baby or simply making it so people return things to you. Hence, the eraser on a string. However, all of that drastically changes...

After falling off a bridge, a girl, who is claiming to be from Venus, saves Kou. Kou realizes he is eternally indebted to her. His whole philosophy in life is shattered instantly and the only thing he can think of is how to repay her.

He asks what he needs to do to repay her and Nino responds curiously with, "People, here, only help if they can get something in return?" I really thought about the significance of what she says because this opens up the path in which the main character will grow in but, I'll discuss that later.

Kou begs and pleads to Nino so, he can remove his debt from her. Finally, she says there is one thing that she wants and that is for him to love her. Kou, being 100% prideful over his "never being in debt to anyone motto", agrees and says he will be back tomorrow. However! Nino makes him stay by saying if he leaves, she'll forget who he is.

Nino takes Kou to meet the chief of the riverbed. Turns out is a man in a kappa suit. The kappa gave Nino her name, which comes from her gym uniform class number 2-3 (ni #2 no san #3). Kou is given the name "Recruit" and the two of them leave.  Nino gets him to spend the night at the riverbed and no they two of them weren't together.

The next morning, Kou wakes up sore from sleeping on the concrete floor and having the a piece of cloth Nimo gave him.  It turned out that piece of cloth was Nino's only blanket and Kou feels he has fallen even further into debt. He also finally gets to go inside of Nino's room where he discovers an epic velvet bed. He goes a bit crazy but, Nino doesn't even use the bed or the blanket...

Turns out she just sleeps in the drawer underneath the bed.
Themes?
Well, I was really pulled to the comment by Nino where she questioned people having to receive something for doing something for another. I imagine Kou will very discretely realize how people can simply do things without expecting anything back. I think this theme is pretty engaging because I'm sure we all know someone who might have this mentality and when you really think about it, at most you would at least expect a "thank you" right?
Final Remarks
I'll be watching this series and I will bloody enjoy it. Series is pretty comical and it actually can grow into something pretty meaningful. I recommend it. It really does give off that Honey and Clover vibe so, if you liked that series definitely give this one a shot.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama EP01

I'm pretty iffy on this series. It really reminds me a lot of His and Her Circumstance but, it just doesn't seem to be that engaging to me.

Basically, Misa, the main character, is the first female school president at her school. Also, the school has just started allowing females into their school. Misa feels that it is her best interest to put up a powerful front (just like His and Her Circumstance).

Some random cute pictures.

Cuteeee

lol.

This is when everything falls apart for Misa. Misa is discovered by Usui. He gets better grades than her and she feels he is just cruising through life, while she has to work desperately hard at everything.

Yeah, she is discovered. Usui keeps secret and protects her. Dunno... series just doesn't trigger for me that much.

B Gata H Kei EP01

I just grabbed this episode randomly and to my delightful surprise, Nanoha VA is in it! It gets better! Her character is basically trying to become a slut! For people who aren't aware of Nanoha VA, she sounds like a 7 year old so, now we have this chick running around trying to be a whore and this is the premise for this series.

Here is our beautiful 7 year old sounding main character. I was pretty worried about the voice actress not fitting but, I think what is going on here is that Yamada is meant to be seen as a cute girl and might just be on the wrong path of losing her virginity.

Gata reminds me of 40 year old version. Of course Yamada isn't 40 years old but, she is trying to find some no named guy to lose her virginity to.

She decides to target a guy named Kasuda. Yamada has no idea how to seduce a guy. She comes up with intricate ideas but, they just never seem to fall through correctly because she always does/says the wrong thing.

Kasuda seeing some boobage.

Yamada wants to be alone with Kasuda so she can get some sweet sweet loving going on. Turns out Kasuda has a hot college sister. Yamada believes Kasua is immune to Yamada's looks and actions because of how physical Kasuda's sister is.

I just liked this picture. Kasuda's sister leaves so, Yamada gets ready to get inside of Kasuda's pants.

Yamada isn't mentally prepared for Kasuda's boner and bursts out of the room.

I'm really feeling this series and expect this one to be a fun ride. This one will definitely replace Kimi ni Todoke for me ;0
