Arakawa Under the Bridge EP05

Who is in it?
Omigawa Chiaki plays the role of P-ko. For a while, I was like who the hell is this voice actress? Why does she sound so bloody familiar. Well, turns out she is Jun from Natsu no Arashi and Maka from Soul Eater. I really liked her in Natsu no Arashi and her voice didn't change very much from her role as P-ko. Omigawa is pretty cute too.

What happened?
In the last episode, we met Maria who is a sadist and likes to mentally attack people. Sister and Rec are just about to leave but, Sister gives in to Maria and passes out. Hence, the cart was for Sister so Rec can take him home.

Rec wanders around where he encounters a garden. In the garden he meets a young girl who is apparently disastrously clumsy (prone to accidents with explosive results). She is so cute! P-ko also has a crush on the Kappa guy. Rec seems to be the only to realize this as well. Anyways P-ko is incredibly friendly with Nino.

Everyone gathers to officially celebrate the arrival of Stella. At this point, Recruit realizes he is the only one with out a job and he is told he is a leech by Maria. This scene also shows what everyone's job. The key one for the episode is Hoshi.

Hoshi explains to Rec how Nino comes to see his concerts every time because women love musicians. Rec counterattacks by explaining how he is skilled in a bunch of forms of music and the both of them begin a challenge for the next day.

Themes?
I believe P-ko might represent the will of doing good for others because you want to. Her garden consisted mostly of things the people on the riverbed; the only thing she grew for herself were peppers. Her being prone to accidents symbolizes the frailty of the constantly good willed people as well. Well, that is what I kind of think at least :)

Last remarks:
P-ko <3 <3 <3 <3
